My 2nd Post on Lookbook.nu

Years back, my gurl Ana (Anpunx) told me about Lookbook and how cool it would be if I'd post some of my looks on the website. For most of the youngsters now, they must have known the page because of the new generation's fashion or style statement. But for some, it's still a whole new world to explore in the internet, especially in getting inspirations on how to pull off an effortless outfit.

My second look is a usual outfit I could wear anytime. Here it is.

Top, P220 / 5 USD, Heart Tittle Online Shop
Skirt, Thrifted
Necklace, Mine (from the BF)
Shoes, Thrifted

And yes, the head-toe look mostly comprises thrifted stuff. I love thrifting, because for me, being stylish doesn't really mean that I have to spend a lot of money to be fashion forward. I must admit, though, that most of the time, I can't buy the most expensive clothes or any accessories. But even if I could purchase one, I adore the thought to recycle and reuse some things to wear to save Mother Earth in my own lil way. My expertise on how to thrift started when I was in high school. And thanks to it, I don't have a hard time these days doing the thrift-shopping! :)

Our Lola Bella VW Van, My Niece, Her Baby Doll and I

I have been staying in my hometown lately for 2 reasons: it's Holy Week, time to spend with the family and reflect on the things that I should do, and I still haven't found work yet.

Today, Mama and I decided to go to my brother's house. My niece just woke up and thought about checking our van in the garage next door. I thought about taking photos of her dressed up with her choice of clothes and accessories to wear and it went pretty fun!

Here are my very-Asian niece's photos with some of mine:

with her Half-Italian soon-to-be playmate (cuz the lil boy is prolly scared of her) and her talking baby doll
 First POse
 Second POse
with her cure asian eyes...what a joy to see a lil girl laughin! ;)

This is how I look today. It doesn't take me much time to choose what to wear as long as I'm comfy with it.
Hat - Accessorize (SM/Ayala)
Sunnies - Vintage Wayfarers Ray-Ban from my Older Brother
Earrings - Forever21
Top - Thrifted
Bag - Thrifted
Necklace - Collage (Ayala)
Black Skinny Jeans - Forever21
Flipflops - Reef (SM)

I miss our van and my sweetie. And would love to go back here, tag my niece along for her photoshoot and check the van from time to time before I can drive her around the city. Have a meaningful Lenten season to all!

Catching up with Lara

Yesterday was a very hot hot hot hottttt day here in Cebu. I was looking for work. Submitting my CV to different companies was my top mission and getting a call for an interview. I am positive that soon, I will land a job that could pay me well and can sustain my daily living, able to save and of course, to do a shopping spree most of the time!

But going back to how my day went, I called my friend Lara Loureen if she was keen to meet up with me and have a dinner together. A couple of hours later, we met in the mall and thought about which restaurant to head to. We were so hungry and so happy that we can realllllly eat soon.

Burp. :)

> Window shopping - loved the MAC # ____ lipstick for her
> Most of the time, I was taking a peek on her Balenciaga bag in Gold and Cream. Envy! Envy! Hehe!
> We promised to do some make-up shopping together soon! (When I can score a job...Haha!)

Here are our photos post-dinner:

At the end of a busy day at work, home or in your own fantasy world, it's always nice to catch up with your girls. ;) Good night!

Summer of Love: The Hippie Side of You

One of the most rewarding accomplishments in life is to work or study hard then get a long break for summer. It's the time of the year to feel free from anything - school, work and rains. It's also the moment that you can dress up with anything you like to to embrace the sunny breeze and late-afternoon purple skies. Everyone wants to escape from the mind-working things to do for the hottest days of the long twelve months. But, everyone also wants to get a whole look in boheme vibe to create that loose feeling, full of love, cheerful heart and serene mind.

Inspired by the 1960s movement, flowers play a big part in making a harmonious relationship from reaching one another to learning what you love deep inside. Be laid-back. Breathe deeply. Be thankful for another wonderful day to live. And let your beauty shine within not only in April and May because it's the spirit of being a flower child mixed with bohemian kind of life and the mystical adventures of a gypsy baby.

My generation and the younger ones may not have lived the real hippie times but that decade made an impact to all of us not only to fashion, style, music and art but also to grip on what's love, peace and happiness. Try on now your stylish boho look and spread the words! Have a trippy-happy summer day! :)

Newstands: ELLE Covergirls Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen (April 2012)

Mary-Kate and Ashley Oslen have been my style icons since the time has begun for me to idolize someone when it comes to fashion and choice of style. I couldn't be more happier to learn from Elle (online) that the April 2012 Issue would cover the twin sisters.

Have you seen the latest issue of ELLE? Chances are good that you’ve backpedalled for a double-take at a newsstand today, and why not? We have two covers, each featuring one of the world’s most recognisable twins: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.
Inside, you’ll find pages of photographs of the sisters wearing some of this season’s most sumptuous looks alongside an exclusive interview. Discover out how the sisters turned their backs on Hollywood and reinvented themselves as designers to watch—and why they say, ‘You have to be a little crazy to do what we do.’
Plus, take a look backstage for an insider’s view of what happened at the ELLE Style Awards, meet rising star Emeli Sande, and discover how fashion shifted from sexpot to Sandra Dee in two short seasons.
And finally, we bring you a moment with Jon Hamm, just ahead of the debut of Mad Men season five: ‘I just don’t even consider myself handsome,’ he tells our interviewer. ‘I look at the people in the world that I consider truly handsome, like Clooney, Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds, Brad Cooper—those guys. When I look in the mirror I see my goofy-ass self from when I was a kid.’

(Now, it reminds me of my "twin sister" Tzobzkie.)

INSPIRATION: Summer Dresses

March is ending soon and everyone’s excited for summer in the tropics. There are lots of awesome things to do for the best time of the year. For the beautiful lasses, it’s the perfect season to shop for dresses for any beach trips, planned short-time vacations (for working women) or just plainly strolling around towns and cities with our loved ones.

With the ever loving internet, I have fished around some pretty dresses as my inspiration for the upcoming sunny months! :)

Tropical Long Dress at Tuttie Style
Tropical Punch Dress - StyleHive (ModCloth)

Blousant Dress at Polyvore

(ooops! I lost the link!)
Beach Blanket Dress - Roxy

Watercolor Tribal Print Dress - Forever21
Moroccan Sun Dress - ModCloth

I know for a fact that there are tons of other summer dresses that are yet to be found. These ones are my top picks and hopefully I can score some. They are so lovely and would surely look so amazing on anyone of us. Enjoy your day! Loves! :)

Sumatra in 2 Shades

In my every day life, there are a couple of pictures I take. I love taking shots of anything and a lot more too of myself which makes my lovepartner bothered though he likes it more if I snap some photos of our beautiful surroundings wherever we go.

This photo was taken in what we called as “Our Beach” located more than 2 km. south of Lhok Nga, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. This exact location had dealt with the tragic tsunami that hit most of the shores in Northern Sumatra, Indo and the neighboring coastlines. The 2004 Boxing Day ebb and flow also took thousands of lives which has been a traumatic experience to the people living those towns in Aceh.

As clear as a glass, the long-stretched coastline could never be thought what it saw during that day. Its serenity still engulfs me now as I lay down here in our hotel bed and makes me miss the solidarity that comes with it. An old place where new trees grow, animals stroll and reunited families bond to pass through the hard times they didn’t expect to come years ago, is worth to pay a visit.

First Stamp

I love to travel. Yet, it’s my first time to be out of my native land with my lovepartner, Craseyfish. Among all the countries around the world, the Singaporean Immigration stamped my passport first and foremost (apart from my departure, though). This picture is one of the rest that I took while we’re on a bus to our second stop - Malaysia.

Straight Hair for 2012 \m/

I have been carrying my loose beach-y locks for a couple of years until 2 days ago, I had my hair straightened. It actually cost me so cheap to have this done and thanks to my hairstylist in my hometown - Miss J! XX
